​Juillet 1999... Après avoir photographié Bruges durant 5 années, je décide d'une visite à New York durant une semaine de congé... Je me limite aux classiques de cette ville étonnante : Manhattan, Ellis Island, Liberty Island, je monte bien sûr au sommet de l'Empire State Building ! Rien de bien étonnant avec la vue... Mais très vite je me rends compte que les gens qui m'entourent sont tellement accaparés par celle-ci, que c'est eux qui deviennent mon sujet principal... En fin de journée, je ferais l'ascension d'une des tours du World Trade Center... Arrivé trop tard sur la terrasse je ne pourrais poursuivre mon sujet; je me dirais alors que j'aurais certainement la possibilité d'y retourner; l'histoire et la folie des hommes me l’interdira !!! Une fois de retour à Paris par dépit… Je poursuivrais le même thème !

July 1999 ... After having photographed Bruges for 5 years, I decided to visit New York for a one week . I have limited myself to the classics of this astonishing city: Manhattan, Ellis Island, Liberty Island, I climbed to  the top of the Empire State Building !
The view was not outstanding to me... But very quickly, before the end of that day I realized that the people around me fascinationed themselves were going to become the center of my main subject  !

I tried to reproduce my newly found subject at one of WTC tower, out of luck, I came too late; I told myself that it will be for a next time !

Back to Paris, out of spite… I would pursue the same subject from others skyscapers !
